NDI Large Systems, Non Destructive Inspection

BRIC Engineered Systems

The C-FUS1 System comes equipped with the same Ultrasonic equipment and software as the standard NDT Systems described. The very similar hardware is used for the motion control of the robotic arms and linear axis. For large composite structures, such as a fuselage section, the parts are lowered into position at which time the main internal structure moves linearly entering the part. One end of large composite structure is fixtured to a main bearing as will the other end. The component rotates as the two robotic arms, one inside the part and one on the outside, position the water jets to provide accurate and reliable inspection measurements.

Each robotic arm is mounted to linear rails to provide motion along the length of the part. This Inspection System may be mounted in a vertical position or horizontally depending on available floor space. A vertical implementation requires substantial ceiling height but reduces floor space usage. The robotic arms are long and thus able to reach around the part even in cases where the part may not be truly circular. By rotating the part, and ensuring reach in the robotic arms, we are able to inspect large parts entirely. This innovative and cost effective approach provides our clients with an NDT System that is flexibile, accurate and reliable, all necessary for proper NDI inspection results.
