Contour Following Technology The proven BRIC Contour Following Technology designed specifically for low volume, hit mix Robotic applications eliminates the costly programming requirements of traditional robots. The Contour Following Technology (CFT) allows the robot to determine, in real time, the required trajectory to maintain a set distance from the parts surface through intelligent sensor and sophisticated algorithms. The size and shape of the parts does not need to be predetermined by the operator, only a simple and quick input is needed, essentially eliminating down time. The CFT can be applied to many applications. Our Contour Following Technology (CFT) is currently being used by the U.S. Air Force in the depainting of aircraft components. We've integrated the CFT into our standard Robot Control System. The aircraft components are placed onto a parts cart or underneath the robot, the operator starts up the system, and the end-of-arm tooling follows the contour of the aircraft component without any preprogramming required. Other industries can also benefit from this technology, so give us a call.
